Here, we had to dig deep to bring out Gollum's unique traits and split personality.
The sculpture is hand-carved from solid pine using an angle grinder, router tools and detailing knives. It is then painted with high-quality acrylic paint, which gives a vibrant and lasting expression. The colors have been chosen to reflect Gollum's character, from the deep shades of green and brown to the more somber tones that bring his tragic story to life.
A unique detail of this sculpture is the tooth guard, which is created from rusty nails. This not only gives an authentic and rustic feel, but also symbolizes Gollum's fate and his fight to overcome the darkness. The hair tufts are made from old guitar strings, which gives an unexpected and creative twist, adding an extra dimension of texture and depth with the reverberation of heavy metal riffs in the basement room.
